Typography Poster: Ellen Lupton | 2021
The idea and concept of the poster developed along the process of making it. What stayed constant was how i wanted to translate the phrase literally through warping the text into the form of two people conversing.
Ellen Lupton is famous for her style in warping texts into shapes that translates to the word, also playing with the anatomy of the letters and turning them into iregular shapes that fits into the theme of the work, in other words “makes sense.”The phrase reminded me of dictionaries. Ellen Lupton was explaining the term according to her understanding in the simplest and most straightforward way possible. It led me to thinking the most basic way of learning words, flash cards. To be specific, ABC flashcards. Those cards were meant to be simple as they are used to familiarize and introduce toddlers to new words.
Hence the idea was extracted. A flash card defining typography in the simplest and most literal way possible.
